"The weeks leading up to the wedding were filled with many deep emotions. I’m normally not very emotional, so experiencing that was a change for me. I had longed to marry my high school sweetheart for five years and I almost couldn’t believe that it was finally happening. Being so close to the day that I would commit my life to Leah brought such intense anticipation! I don’t normally cry, in sadness or in joy, but multiple times I found myself tearing up as I thought about how lucky I was to marry the woman of my dreams. One of the moments that I’ll never forget was taking communion together after we had said our vows to one another. The connection that I felt to Leah as we held one another and spent time in prayer through tears is indescribable. The graciousness of God to bring us together as husband and wife and to allow us to mirror what He has done for us will always be one of the greatest sources of joy for me as I look back on that day and as we continue our lives together.
