Being a wedding photographer here on the West Coast, I get asked often what wedding venues would be most ideal for couples looking to not only have an incredible celebration but also offer ample light to elevate the imagery. In this post, I’m highlighting Santa Barbara County, and the top venues I’d highly consider at least touring. There is no particular order to the list.
The Rosewood at Miramar Beach

Why the Rosewood at Miramar Beach? This ocean front property not only has views (ocean and mountains), but walking access to one of the most beautiful beaches in Santa Barbara. This beach is a top photoshoot location for my clients. There are multiple spaces on the property to choose from for your ceremony & reception, everything from intimate garden settings, to the grand ballroom or out on the lawn. This venue collides quirky beach character & romantic grand staircase feels. Around every corner you’ll find classic, high-end aesthetic. This is a perfect venue contender for those who want the luxury aesthetic of Montecito, yet want those joy-filled & happy images as well!

Vision is endless for this venue. Imagine all of the sweetest moments for images— the cottage suites climbing with bougainvillea, the historic adobe situated on the land, the lavender field, lush gardens, I could go on and on.
You cannot beat the lush gardens with the San Ynez mountains as a backdrop! There are so many moments throughout this magical place. From an intimate setting in the Wine Cellar near dusk to a stroll through the lavender field at sunset. Picture the getaway car as a classic car, maybe a white convertible rolling down the cobblestone streets. There are European undertones throughout.

Located just a few blocks away from the Pacific this venue encompasses all things romantic, & classic Santa Barbara architecture. This stunning courtyard is filled with attention to details in every corner - ivy, olive trees, fountains, fireplace - that will elevate all of the images on your day. This is an incredible consideration for my clients who are looking for an intimate, romantic venue that has a luxury aesthetic.

SANTA BARBARA COURTHOUSE

I saved one of the bests for last! This location is by far one of the most sought after locations in Santa Barbara. This original & historic 1929 Spanish style structure is hands down one of the most stunning courthouse buildings in the states. The gardens are always maintained, the stucco is in near perfect condition and there are endless photo ops with the stairs, big warm curves of the entrances and layers of textures.
